The Market
Is Basingstoke really a market town?
I stand nearby, can't help but frown
For number of the stalls are down
What when Christmas come around?
I wandered round last Wednesday
To see what had changed
Having long not visited
Some stalls come and go
And some stalls stay to show
They'll be there a long time
Most obvious is the 'hot dog stall'
Shouting out wares so there's no waste
Wednesdays and Saturdays eight til four
But we really need more stalls
To live up to the reputation of a market town
Until this happens, I'll still feel down
The council have a duty to keep standards high
Quality but lack of quantity
It makes me sigh
